Maire McGranahan is married to Patrick McGranahan and is definitely Irish. She came to Dayton, Ohio, in 1953.
Maire learned Irish dance steps from her father and has been dancing since the age of ten. She taught Irish step and figure dancing in England where she also won numerous awards for solo dancing.
Dances Maire has taught include Cor Beirte (Two-Hand Reel), Cor Ceathrair (Four-Hand Reel), Fallai Limnighe (Walls of Limerick), Siamsa Beirte (Two-Hand Frolic), Staicin Eornan (Stack of Barley), and Ionnsai na Hinnse (Seige of Ennis).
