Simon H. Løvald has, since the very beginning of his dancing career, been focusing on the traditional dancing from Hallingdal, Norway.

Although he started dancing at the age of 19, he has made a name for himself in the Norwegian folk dancing community. Working as a freelance dancer and instructor, he has held classes in several different places in Norway.

Among many other assignments, he has been dance instructor for Bygda Dansar, the national project for teaching folk dancing to youth, Hallinglaget (the Hallingdal community) in Oslo, and the Norwegian folk museum dance group.

In 2012, Simon won the National championship as a part of the dance group Hallingan performing Hallingspringar, and in 2013 and 2014 he won his class in Hallingdans (laus) at the National Championship making him an A-class dancer (elite class). The same year he joined the FRIKAR dance company.
