The Highland was at 732 N. Highland in Hollywood, CA. A new folk dance group starting October 7, 1974. This organization is listed under the coffeehouse category as that was its final aim. It was run by Ruth and Jack Margolin and Sy Levy on a new hardwood floor in a nightclub atmosphere.
In October of 1974: Beginning teaching, 7:30-8:15; intermediate, 8:15-9 p.m. Guest teachers to be featured. Introductory offer included teaching, dancing, and refreshments.
In December of 1974: Ellen Kurz taught Romanian dances from the San Diego Conference during the intermediate period, 8:30-9:30 pm. Ruth Margolin taught the beginners' hour, 7:30-8:30. Admission included instruction and refreshments.
